Disney World Shareable Counter Service Meals

Where to find some of the best shareable Walt Disney World Counter Service Meals

Eating at Walt Disney World is notoriously expensive. This may not be an issue if you're on a Free Disney Dining Package. However, as Disney have not reintroduced this offer post-Covid, it seems all guests will now be paying out-of-pocket for their meals.

During our trips, we've discovered some Counter Service restaurants serve portions big enough to share. With many locations also offering large side dishes to bulk out a meal.

Here I've highlight some of our favourite dishes and where to find them, in the hope it helps make your visit a little more affordable.

1. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe ( Magic Kingdom) - Taco Trio

Beginning with one of our favourite counter service restaurants located in Magic Kingdom.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn serve decent sized meals, and this includes the Taco Trio.

The dish consists of 3 flour tortillas, which are filled with a choice of: Seasoned Ground Beef, Seasoned Chicken, Pork Carnitas or Spicy Shredded Cauliflower. A yogurt and pineapple salsa also come as part of the meal.

Pre-Covid, we added extra salad and sauces, courtesy of the famous Pecos Bill Fixin's Bar. However, as this is no longer in operation, you will be given salad toppings as part of the dish.

2. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe ( Magic Kingdom) - Fajita Platter

Also found at Pecos Bill is The Fajita Platter. It's a few dollars more expensive than the Tacos Trio, but we deemed it worth the higher price.

This substantial dish consists of Pork Carnitas and Seasoned Chicken, served with rice, beans, vegetables and flour tortillas. Again, extra salad toppings are provided.

3. Pinocchio Village Haus (Magic Kingdom) - Flatbreads

Another Magic Kingdom counter service restaurant serving shareable counter service meals is Pinocchio Village Haus.

Here we've discovered the Flatbreads are big enough to share 2 between the 4 of us. If we're particularly hungry, the Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce provides a cheap and filling additional entree. Or the Breadsticks, also with Marinara sauce, are a substantial side.

4. La Cantina de San Angel (Epcot) - Tacos

There are more Mexican meals to be found over in Epcot. And fans of this cuisine will be pleased to know the portion sizes at the Mexico pavilion counter service restaurant are equally as generous.

Again, there are plenty of dishes to choose from, including their version of the Tacos meals. Each one includes 3 tacos generously filled with chicken, shredded beef, fish, or one of each if you choose the Tacos Trio.

These are served alongside a sizeable portion of Mexican rice and refried beans.

5. Tangierine Cafe (Epcot Morocco Pavilion) - Vegetarian Platter

A fabulous counter service restaurant for those who fancy something a little different can be found in Epcot's Morocco Pavilion.

We've eaten here a number of times, and have always enjoyed our food.

Although meat versions are available, a personal favourite is the Vegetarian Platter. This delicious combination of falafels, olives, hummus, tabouleh, lentils, salad, and flatbread is always enough to satisfy and share.

6. Satu'li Canteen (Animal Kingdom) - Combination Bowl

Over in Animal Kingdom, Satu'li Canteen in Pandora - World of Avatar is another counter service restaurant with sizeable offerings and unusual food.

All standard Satu'li Bowls are priced between $12.99 - $15.49. They consist of a satisfying base of noodles, rice, potatoes or salad. To this you can add your choice of meat, fish or tofu, together with a sauce. A side of vegetable slaw and boba balls completes the meal.

Although just a few dollars more expensive than the regular meals, the Combination Bowl comes with 2 different meats (beef & chicken), which provides plenty to share.

7. Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe (Animal Kingdom)

Before the opening of Satu'li Canteen, this was our go-to Animal Kingdom counter service restaurant.

We deem the portions at Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe big enough to order 2 or 3 entrees between the 4 of us.

The Sesame Honey Chicken is a family favourite. And during our last visit we also tried the Vegetable Tikka Masala. This provided another generous portion, but benefitted from the addition of extra seasoning and a sachet of spicy sauce from the condiments table.

A noteworthy extra is the Chicken Fried Rice. This side dish is one of the most generous on property, making it the perfect way to create an even more substantial meal from this great location.

8. Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza (Disney Springs)

If you're heading out to Disney Springs for a counter service meal, consider a visit to Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza.

As well as ordering one of their signature pizzas, there's also the option to build your own from the huge selection of available toppings on offer.

We tend to share 2 or 3 pizzas between 4 people. The Red Vine, BBQ Chicken, and Meat Eater from the signature menu are all really good. And at under $11 each, they provide one of the cheapest yet satisfying counter service meals in Disney World.

Hint: To help keep costs even lower, when dining at counter service restaurants, ask for a cup of free iced water which is available at every location.

I've highlighted here a number of shareable counter service meals available at Walt Disney World. As the restaurants are located in different areas, and include a variety of cuisine, you have plenty of flexibility and choice.

Hopefully, this shows eating at Walt Disney World needn't be as expensive as you may think. Meaning you can save your money to spend on having extra fun!
